Galo Plaza Lasso, son of a former president and US ambassador, Leonidas Plaza, championed democratic values and saw economic improvement during his presidency. As the first Ecuadorian president in 28 years to complete his term, he emphasized freedom of the press, fair elections, and the export of bananas, fostering economic stability. His legacy is a testament to his impact on democracy and economic progress in Ecuador.
